Deborah A. Pasko, Pharm.D., M.H.A., is the Sr. Director of Medication Safety and Quality at ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists). With more than 22 years of pharmacy practice experience, Dr. Pasko leads ASHP鈥檚 efforts to improve medication safety and reduce opioid misuse. Dr. Pasko鈥檚 role at ASHP includes working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the White House on national medication safety initiatives. She also serves as an advisor to the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), the Joint Commission (TJC), the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) National Coordinating Council for Medication Error Reporting and Prevention (NCC-MERP) safety committee, and the National Quality Forum (NQF). Dr. Pasko earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University College of Pharmacy. She has a Masters of Health Administration from the Walden University School of Health Sciences and completed a fellowship in Nephrology and Critical Care at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Dr. Pasko has received numerous awards including the Cheers Award for Medication Safety.

Danielle M. Alm, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP). Additionally, she is a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Children鈥檚 Regional Hospital at Cooper University HealthCare. In this role she practices in general pediatrics as well as pediatric intensive care unit patients. Here, Dr. Alm precepts learners, including introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experience (IPPE) and (APPE) students and a PGY2 Pharmacotherapy Resident. On campus, Dr. Alm鈥檚 didactic teaching responsibilities include pediatric content taught throughout the curriculum. Pediatric content includes pediatric infectious diseases, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic differences, pediatric enteral and parenteral nutrition, pediatric seizures, multiple sclerosis, drug information and literature evaluation, and hematology and oncology. She also coordinates the pediatric elective. Dr. Alm鈥檚 research interests include student run research, pediatric research focusing on medication safety, pharmacodynamics, and asthma. She is an active member of the Pediatric Pharmacist Association (PPA) where she has served in many different roles.

George E. Downs, PharmD, is the Dean Emeritus of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) and Linwood F. Tice Professor of Pharmacy at Saint Joseph's University. Downs graduated from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy, and earned his Pharm.D. degree at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Downs served in the U.S. Public Health Service and was a senior resident in Hospital Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. He was involved with the Drug Systems Research group that developed the first Medication Error Research Program. He was assistant director of pharmacy and central supply at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and director of society services at the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists. He has been on the faculty of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia since 1972 and has taught at both Hahnemann University Hospital and the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center. Downs has served as president of the National Rho Chi Honor Society, and has been honored by the American College of Apothecaries for his support of community pharmacy. He is past-president of the Health Promotion Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania and serves on the Board of Directors of SARPH, the impaired pharmacists program in Pennsylvania and the Public Health Management Corporation.
